I got a call.
"Would you like to perform at the Emmy's in two days?"
How could I pass that up?
"Sure, what do you need me to do?"
It was at the Swissotel in Chicago. The main Emmy's are in California. But I guess each region has its own subset to recognize local talent.
I was a fill-in DJ. I had never been a DJ before. So, the leader of the band, Harry G of Discoheadslive, stopped by my studio the day before to give me an overview of what to do. Simple enough. Press play and dance a little.
Getting there early gave an opportunity to appreciate something I never thought I would experience. The crowd gathered with time, filling up the hallway where we were performing. There was a rush even when there was time. Fine suits and dresses all around full of excited people. It was a celebration. I don't know who won or lost, but I hope they all had as good of a time as I did.
A special thanks to JoAnn Fakhouri, the manager of Discoheadslive. She runs Captial J Productions LLC, for everything.
Thanks,
Anthony Lachus
